Setting up an automated personalized video lead magnet system

Hi everyone, Ashwin here, founder of Dopplio. I’m excited to share how we've enhanced lead conversion using a quick and personalized video response when someone signs up via our lead magnet form.

This strategy has significantly improved our demo conversion rates.

The Sign-Up Process and Immediate Notification

When a prospective client fills out our sign-up form, they enter basic details such as their first name and email address.

Once the form is submitted, we receive an immediate notification via Slack. This prompt lets our team know that a personalized video needs to be created for the new lead.

Creating and Linking the Personalized Video

To create the personalized video, we log into our Dopplio account and navigate to our "Lead Magnet" campaign. We enter the necessary details into the video generator—typically the lead's first name—and generate the video.

If the video already exists from previous entries, we use the existing one by copying its link.

Automating the Follow-Up Process

After generating the video, we submit the necessary details, including the video URL, into a form that triggers our Zapier automation.

This "Zap" integrates the video into a drip email sequence, ensuring the lead receives a personalized video in both full and GIF formats.

We've set up our system to automatically send these emails, which feature the lead's first name and the tailored video, enhancing the personal touch.

Backend Setup: Zapier Automations

The automation involves two main Zaps:

1. From Lead Form to Slack Notification: This Zap captures the form data using a webhook and sends a notification to our Slack channel.

2. From Form Submission to Drip Campaign: This second Zap takes the submitted form data and integrates it into our drip campaign system, which then triggers the personalized emails to the lead.

These automated sequences are set up to work with any marketing automation tools like Active Campaign or Salesforce, as they are all supported by Zapier.

Security and Manual Oversight

We maintain a manual checkpoint in the process to ensure quality and appropriateness of content.

For example, if a lead enters a potentially inappropriate name, it can be manually screened and excluded from the process, preserving the integrity of our outreach.

Conclusion and Future Developments

This method has proven effective for us at Dopplio, enhancing lead engagement through personalized communication.

We are working towards an API that would automate this further, but until then, this system serves as an efficient interim solution.
